Petchem Output Up by 85%
Pardis Petrochemical Complex (PPC) produced more than 1.63 million tons of ammoniac and urea during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), up 85 percent in terms of weight in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year.According to Shana, Pardis Petrochemical Complex has exported more than 800,000 tons of petrochemicals including 533,912 tons of urea granules and 270,755 tons of ammonic to different countries.
The total exports also show a 111-percent increase in value during the mentioned period. Pardis Petrochemical Complex is located at South Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Assalouyeh in Bushehr province south of Iran. The complex is one of the biggest producers of urea and ammonic in the world.
Earlier this month, Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Abdolhossein Bayat said that despite the implementation of an emergency gasoline production plan in petrochemical plants, NPC petrochemical exports increased by 88 percent during the Iranian month of Shahrivar (23 August-22 September).
The official noted that the company exported 1.236 million tons of petrochemicals worth $749 million in Shahrivar while the figure stood at 757 thousand tons worth $398 million during the same period last year.
He added the figures show the petrochemical exports grew by 63 percent in terms of weight and 88 percent in terms of value during the mentioned period.
According to NPC's managing director, domestic sale of the company also increased during the mentioned period and stood at 650,000 tons, up 40 percent in comparison to the corresponding period in the last year.
