MESC wins $14 million order for Ruwais Refinery Expansion

2010 has yet marked another milestone in MESC Group spectacular evolution and growth, and the sales grew at its fastest in the 2nd quarter smashing expectations and adding pressure to bring forward with its vision plans not only for the GCC region but for the entire MENA region.

MESC Group the One-Stop-Shop for all types of cables has recently been awarded a contract worth $ 14 Million from GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, Seoul-Korea to supply Instrumentation Cables for Takreer Ruwais Refinery Expansion in Abu Dhabi-UAE.

The Ruwais Refinery Expansion Project is part of ADNOC's strategy to develop its downstream industry and to meet the growing demand of high quality petroleum products in the local markets as well as increase its presence in the International Market. That's in addition to meet future stringent specifications and requirements in terms of finished products.

The project will increase TAKREER 's refining capacity of crude oil by 417,000 Barrels per day and nearly double its production of transportation fuels; Gasoline, Jet and Diesel. Takreer operates today at 490,000 Barrels per day name plate capacity at its two sites in Abu Dhabi and Ruwais

The process configuration consists of 21 major Process Units with supporting Offsite and Utilities Units. Latest technology to reduce the carbon footprint has been incorporated enabling TAKREER to become an environmental pacesetter in future.

The centerpiece of the project is the Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit; at 127,000 Barrels per day, the largest of its kind under construction. The scheme was selected to profitably upgrade the bottom of the barrel and to maximize propylene production for capturing

The Project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013. Measures to ensure safety of personnel and eliminate adverse impact to the environment, has been given high priority in all aspects of project management.
