Recession has affected all industry and ready-to-wear fashion industry. We have been profitable as we bought less inventory in 2009 compared to the years before and continued expanding the brand during recession.
Brands can make a huge difference during purchases made during a crisis.
Did the recession hit demand for men's fashion brands in the international market?Yes, but I say that men's wear always survives primarily because men never stop buying for their family. We have been successful in the kid's launch during the period of tough times. Our Middle East operations have just started with the first store in Mirdif City Centre in collaboration with the Jawad Business Group . We are certain that our association with Jawad Business Group will bear positive results.
What are the main international markets for Daniel Cremieux? What is its share in Middle East market? What's its marketing plan to increase its presence in the region?
China is becoming bigger and bigger, Daniel Cremieux has opened 50 stores in a period of three years in that market. We are also expanding in Europe, Spain, Greece.
We are lucky to have found a target market in these places, where people are looking for the kind of taste, which we cater to.
Does the company have any strategy or growth plan for the UAE and Dubai after opening the first store at
Mirdif City Centre
?
Jawad Business Group
plans to launch extensive marketing plan for Cremieux. We are certain that Jawad will make a big difference in the region.
We have an agreement of opening of 25 stores within five years in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.
What's the latest trend in men fashion collection? Any major changes in terms of design, quality and price trends expected in coming days?
In terms of design the classic style will always be in fashion. More importance is on good fabrics.
Elementary items such as bow tie, belts, men's scarves etc are back in fashion. The military, preppy look will always be in the limelight.
