The World Justice Project Confirms Tunisian Minister of Justice and Human Rights Lahzar Bououny as Speaker in Middle East and North Africa Regional Rule of Law Conference

The World Justice Project (WJP) is pleased to announce the confirmation of Tunisian Minister of Justice and Human Rights Lazhar Bououny as a speaker in the WJP's upcoming Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Rule of Law Conference to be held at Al Akhawayn University on June 25-26 in Ifrane, Morocco.

The World Justice Project's MENA Rule of Law Conference 2010 will convene regional leaders from a variety of disciplines--including government officials, lawyers, judges, artists, architects, educators, faith leaders, engineers, environmentalists, public health workers, business leaders and the media--to address Rule of Law issues critical to the region and to develop multidisciplinary action plans to advance the Rule of Law as the foundation of communities of opportunity and equity. Conference topics will focus on access to justice for marginalized groups, the intersection of secular and Islamic law, and the connection between the Rule of Law and economic development.

In addition to Minister Bououny, other speakers include Moroccan Minister of Justice Mohamed Naciri, former Prime Minister of Algeria Mohamed Benbitour, former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu, media mogul Nashwa Al Ruwaini, and former Arab League ambassador to the United States and the United Nations Clovis Maksoud. Iraqi Government Spokesperson Ali Dabbah and President of the Iraq Higher Judicial Council Medhat Al-Mahmood will also be in attendance.

The World Justice Project's MENA 2010 Regional Rule of Law Conference in Morocco will be its first regional mainstreaming meeting in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The World Justice Project is a multinational, multidisciplinary initiative which seeks to strengthen the Rule of Law for the development of communities of opportunity and equity.
