National Aviation Services wins Award for best Airport Ground Handler at Emerging Markets Airport (EMA) Awards

4^th May 2010: Dubai, United Arab Emirates: National Aviation Services ( NAS ), the leading provider of quality airport ground handling services in developing countries, announced that it has officially won the Award for Best Airport Ground Handler in the emerging markets at the Emerging Markets Airport Awards in Dubai earlier this week.

Ground handling companies nominated in the same category were Dnata , Swissport and Astra among others and NAS won the award for its exemplary ground handling services and for the steady growth it has shown in the past year. The awards were held to encourage the development of the emerging airport markets and recognizing the accomplishments of the airports and other stakeholders in the industry.

" NAS is an aviation services company that is changing the face of the industry within the region and has gained respect from airlines and government authorities alike for its excellent ramp handling, passenger services, cargo management and engineering services." quoted Hassan El Houry, Chief Executive Officer of NAS in a press statement.

"We are thrilled to have won in this category let alone be nominated along side such big names considering we are a young company" he added, citing the fact that NAS is one of the youngest airline ground handling companies in the region and is expanding rapidly. The growth has been driven by the company's ability to consistently win new ground handling contracts with major carriers, as well as success in directing freight through its air cargo terminal. Despite the challenging economic times, it has managed to successfully manage its business through efficient and optimum utilization of its assets right from its state-of-the-art equipment, its facilities to its skilled workforce.

NAS has constantly been accumulating accolades, the most recent accomplishments include obtaining a 99.6% On Time Performance record with Jazeera Airways , the regions fastest growing budget airline. Additionally the Kuwait Station of Etihad Airways handled by NAS was recognized as the first station to score 100 points in the airline's KPI ratings.

Twenty two categories of Airports Excellence were honored during the EMA Awards ceremony, featuring Hall of Fame, Best Airport Award categories, Special Awards and Best Airport Technical and IT Services Providers' Awards. The Airport Show Gala Dinner took place on the 26th of April 2010, the 2nd day of the Airports Show exhibition, which was held from 25 to 27 April 2010. The show has progressed rapidly to become one of the largest airport construction, operations, technology and services events in the world.
