Meeting on stem cell research on May 10
DOHA: Taking a major step to introduce stem cell research among the Qatari community, the research division of Qatar Foundation will host the inaugural Qatar Public Forum on Stem Cell Science and Policy.The event is part of Qatar Foundation 's ongoing initiative to promote stem cell research. Qatar's leading scientists, ethicists, and Islamic scholars and policy makers will participate in a panel discussion.
The forum will also give the Qatar community the opportunity to be involved in the discussion of stem cell research and policy. They will be encouraged to offer opinions and ask questions.
"Because of the importance and growth in stem cell science and research, Qatar Foundation will hold for the first time a forum to discuss the public's views on stem cell science," said Dr Abdelali Haoudi, Vice President for Research.
Qatar Public Forum on Stem Cell Science and Policy will be held on May 10 at the Weill-Cornell Medical College in Qatar.

anywhere in the world that has discussions on stem cell research is fantastic I live in scotland and i hope that all centres across the world cooperate and not keep their research to themselves i have a horrible condition called idiopathic axonal peripheral neuropathy and my neurologist says there is no research in UK i am desperate as all my blood tests and lumbar puncture are normal but nerve conduction tests show i have a problem i am desperate and hope that stem cells can help me SOON I am only 66 and feel as if the doctors have left me to ROT
