NIPC Priorities Outlined

Completion of 11 petrochemical projects is among the National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC) priorities in the current fiscal year (started March 21), managing director of the company Abdolhosain Bayat said Sunday.

Shana quoted him as saying at a meeting of NIPC directors that this year, which has been dubbed "Extra diligence, Extra work", 11 petrochemical projects will be completed and come on stream.

On the provision of credits to implement the projects, Bayat said his company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with some local banks to implement 30 new projects.

Late last year six petrochemical projects in Assaloyeh in Bushehr province, with $2 billion investment, started operation to increase annual petrochem output capacity by almost three million tons.

The company plans to increase urea production to 12 million tons until the end of Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (by 2015).
