SEDD meets commercial centers' representatives
The Sharjah Economic Development Department ( SEDD ), led by Director General H.E. Ali bin Salem Al Mahmoud, has discussed the development of the commercial centers sector in Sharjah, its role in the progress of economic growth, and the role of the government in supporting the retail sector as one of the most important investment and promotional factors for Sharjah, during a meeting with a number of representatives involved with the biggest commercial activities in the emirate.
Al Mahmoud praised the efforts made by commercial centers to bring about Sharjah's investment ambitions, which is on par with the emirate's strategies to attract a wide range of investors through numerous offers and facilities. Al Mahmoud stressed that periodic meetings are necessary to stay informed of the progress made by commercial centers, and to break down any barriers that may hamper this progress.
"The meeting was successful," said Al Mahmoud. "Valuable suggestions were put on the table and we exchanged numerous ideas and concepts that will surely benefit the economic activity in Sharjah. The meeting resulted in several recommendations that will not only strengthen relationships, but will also increase the growth rates of commercial centers to higher levels."
He added: "In the meeting, we stressed the importance of sharing ideas and suggestions that will help break down barriers concerning the promotional processes and facilitation of procedures. SEDD will cooperate by facilitating procedures regarding promotions and receiving suggestions leading to solutions on a professional level. We also stressed the importance of cooperation between government departments such as SEDD , the Sharjah Municipality and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and private establishments regarding promotional activities, commercial activities and inspection raids."
Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director for Economic Affairs at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, added: "The aim of this meeting was to form joint business operations that will help create a communication ring with institutions concerned with promotional planning. We sensed that SEDD is committed to offering all available help, based on the principle of teamwork, as it is only through the cooperation of all parties involved that set goals can be achieved."
In addition to Al Mahmoud, Askar and Al Jarwan, the meeting was attended by a number of officials as well as commercial center owners.
