AHS Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center Receives Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation
"Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center announces easy access to world-class medical care"Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a member of Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. ( SEHA ), today announced that its Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center in Abu Dhabi has been accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). The Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center is the first stand-alone multi-specialty clinic to receive JCI Accreditation in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA). This reflects the aim to set international standards in healthcare in Abu Dhabi and the commitment of AHS to the continuous improvement and achievement of quality care in diagnostic and treatment services. AHS is working towards this goal through its world-class healthcare centers located across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
AHS announced the JCI accreditation at a gala dinner held at Al Raha Beach Hotel - Abu Dhabi, on Friday evening, during which an appreciation ceremony for the Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center staff was also held, recognizing their effort in gaining this achievement.
The system of accreditation by JCI is independent of the healthcare organization to be accredited and is based upon the adoption of a set of standards to improve the quality of care on par with the best. These criteria have been developed by its team of global experts and specialists. JCI standards and evaluation methods stand alone in the world as unique tools designed to provide quantifiable benchmarks for patient care quality and drive positive changes across the healthcare organization.
Speaking on the accreditation, Dr. John Evangelista, Director of

- AHS, said, "We are honored and pleased that one of our healthcare centers, Khalifa (A), received the accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). This reinforces our commitment to our vision of providing outstanding healthcare for the community on par with global health standards. The Khalifa (A) Healthcare Center contributes to achieving the vision of AHS by offering international quality of medical care and providing easy access to an array of ambulatory healthcare services. Our goal is to be able to achieve a systems-wide accreditation for the whole AHS network."
Dr. Abdulhadi Al Ahbabi, COO of AHS, added, "I would like to thank all the staff of Khalifa (A) - the doctors, nurses, customer service representatives as well as secretarial and reception staff - for their effort and commitment to providing quality healthcare that meets the highest international standards in terms of safety and quality."

In September 2007, JCI received accreditation by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), meeting the highest international benchmarks for accreditation entities.
