Zurich announces new Life CEO in the Middle East
Dubai, January 7, 2010 - Zurich has announced the appointment of Mark Hartigan as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Zurich's Life business in the Middle East. In addition to his new appointment, Mark will continue to operate as Global Head of the International and Expatriate customer segment for Zurich Global Life.Mark, who has been with Zurich since July 2009, will report to David Sims, CEO Global Life Emerging Markets. Taking over from Carlos Sabugueiro, Mark originally joined Zurich from Nexus, a leading international financial advisory firm in the Middle East, where he was deputy CEO.
Commenting on Mark's appointment David Sims said: "This is an exciting new chapter for our business; Mark has first-hand experience of meeting the needs of this distinct customer segment, plus hands-on experience of what it is like to be a customer of Zurich. Together with this, Mark brings a deep understanding of the Middle East distribution market place and with his passion; he will help to drive the growth of our Middle East business."
