NEPCO renews agreement with Egyptian Company for Electricity Transmission
AMMAN (JT) - National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) Director General Ahmad Hiyasat on Tuesday signed an agreement with Egyptian Company for Electricity Transmission Chairman Hassan Jaber Nijem to renew the previously signed contract between the two sides on electricity exchange for 2010, according to a NEPCO 's statement.Under the agreement, Jordan will purchase around 150 gigawatt hour from the Egyptian side in 2010 while NEPCO will also have the opportunity to export electric energy to the Egyptian side. To boost experience sharing, the two sides also agreed to organise periodic visits in 2010 for electricity operators from the two countries.
