State Planning Commission and FDA Review Cooperation in Projects of Priority to Syria

Damascus: Chairman of State Planning Commission Taysir Raddawi and the French Development Agency (FDA) Director Philippe Lecrinier on Thursday discussed cooperation prospects in areas of water and drainage, transport, communications, agriculture and housing as well as supporting municipalities.

Both sides touched upon the local administration proposal which includes the possibility of agency contribution to finance the project of municipalities fund which its agreement was recently signed with the European Investment Bank .

Possibilities of cooperation in the areas of microfinance and a framework of cooperation agreement in a number of developmental fields of priority to Syria were also discussed.

Both sides reviewed work of the agency office in Damascus, its requirements and the projects proposed by it for cooperation in the domains of housing, transport to be presented to the concerned sides to choose the most important for economy and development.

Dr. Raddawi hailed the existing cooperation with the FDA and its role in supporting development projects in all fields. For his part, Lecrinier expressed readiness of the agency to cooperation in important and vital projects.
