DAMAC Properties' Ocean Heights tower tops 70 floors at the Marina
Building to be complete in one year's time; thanks to 'tremendous team effort'
Dubai, UAE, August 17th 2009: Luxury lifestyle provider DAMAC Properties is showing its determination on construction and delivery with its flagship Ocean Heights development now approaching 70 floors.
The skyscraper which will finally stand 84 storeys tall at the entrance to Dubai Marina on Al Sufouh Road, will complete its structure by the late autumn and is due for total completion in just under a year. It is set to be one of the area's most iconic buildings, already towering above all others in the vicinity and with its twisting architectural design now clearly visible.
Around 1800 people are on site each day and main contractor Arabtec is completing a floor every week. In addition Alumco , who are installing the external blue glass cladding on the building, which will give it its eye-catching design have reached the 54th floor. Inside the tower, electrical wiring and cabling has reached the 60th floor with interior plastering and painting at floor 55.
'Building a tower of this scale involves many different contractors - we have around 25 working at Ocean Heights - and so it is important that coordination and cooperation are the key focuses for everyone involved.
'I congratulate them on their efforts which clearly demonstrate that despite some turbulent times and challenges in recent months, their focus has remained resolute and everyone on site is determined to ensure that Ocean Heights lives up to the expectations that we all have for this magnificent building', added Peter.
Once completed Ocean Heights will eventually offer 680 apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms. In addition the building will feature DAMAC Properties ' Signature Series penthouse range - ultimate luxury apartments with the latest in hi-tech gadgetry and luxurious home comforts. The first penthouse floor has just been constructed at floor 67.
In addition to providing stunning individual homes, Ocean Heights will offer a communal outdoor leisure deck complete with pool plus a gym and sauna/steam rooms for all residents with views across the Palm and towards Atlantis. There will be good accessibility with nearby links to the new Dubai Metro and the extensive leisure facilities and shops of the Marina on hand.
Whilst Ocean Heights will be the third project at Dubai Marina to be completed by DAMAC Properties , it will be joined in a few years time by DAMAC Heights, another super tall skyscraper that is scheduled to be completed in 2013. Currently design and development work is taking place and it expected that the enabling works contract will be awarded by the end of this year.
Ziad El Chaar, General Manager of Operations at DAMAC Properties added: 'The Marina continues to be a prime location for people who are looking to invest in property in Dubai and we believe these two iconic buildings - coupled with our already completed projects like Marina Terrace and The Waves - afford us great opportunities to offer customers with a range of different options.
"We look forward to Ocean Heights completing its construction later this year and to it contributing to a DAMAC Properties trilogy at Dubai Marina next summer.'
