Freshfields advises Bahrain's National Oil and Gas Authority on joint venture with Occidental and Mubadala
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is advising Bahrain's National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) on a 20-year Development and Production Sharing Agreement with Occidental Petroleum Corporation ( Occidental ) and Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), a business development and investment company in Abu Dhabi, for further development of the Bahrain Field.Under the agreement, which is the largest ever undertaken in Bahrain, Occidental , Mubadala and NOGA will form a new joint operating company that will implement a development plan to dramatically increase the Bahrain Field's production of both oil and gas.
Commenting on the deal, Joseph Huse, MENA managing partner said, 'We are very pleased to represent NOGA on such a significant transaction. Being instructed by our clients on the largest deal in Bahrain is a significant milestone for our MENA practice, and underlines our strong reputation in the region'.
