Oman Travel Mart Ends Today
MUSCAT - The 6th Oman Travel Mart (OTM), a three-day exhibition showcasing various tourism attractions of Oman and other countries has attracted more than 75 companies from nine countries. The exhibition will conclude today (Thursday).The annual event, which had more than 8,000 visitors last year, continued to attract a large number of national and international visitors signifying Oman's vibrant tourism industry despite the global slowdown. The exhibition gives a glimpse of the potential for outbound and inbound tourism, medical tourism, as well as property and investment tourism opportunities in Oman.
With its rugged mountains and lush oases, the Sultanate has become a top holiday destination for tourists and is listed among the top 10 in Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2009 Guide.
Besides Omani government offices, tourism authorities of Malaysia, India, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia were also exhibiting at the fair.
