Nakheel awards ASGC Jumeirah Heights contract
Al Shafar General Contracting ( ASGC ) has won a prestigious contract worth Dh1.1 billion from Nakheel , to construct a mixed-residential development in Jumeirah Heights.ASGC will collaborate with consultant, Arenco , on the project, which is set for completion in August 2010.
ASGC will be working on one of two identical clusters, Frond B, comprising two mid-rise apartment buildings, 17 townhouses, and three low-rise buildings that will house two- and three- bedroom loft-apartments with private gardens.
Bishoy Azmy, CEO of ASGC , said: "Our continuous focus on reliability and integrity has played a vital role in making us a recognised contracting leader in this highly competitive market place. By placing great importance on the principles of safety, quality and people, we have been able to satisfy our clients' needs on every project."
ASGC is ranked the fifth largest contractor in the UAE by Meed and is currently handling an order book worth Dh 9 billion. Between 2005 and 2007, the company grew by 377 per cent and achieved certification to international safety and environmental standards with ISO14001 (International Standards Organisation) and OHSAS 180001 (Occupational Health and Safety Association) certification in February 2008.
