Youssef is appointed Arab Air Carriers head
Doha - Travel and tourism industry technology provider Amadeus has appointed Ahmed Youssef as its Head of Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) Project Implementation.Youssef will oversee and drive the project of the AACO partnership with Amadeus, where 13 regional member airlines -- Air Algerie , Afriqiyah Airways , EgyptAir , Etihad Airways , Kuwait Airways , Libyan Airlines , Qatar Airways , Saudi Arabian Airlines , Sudan Airways , Syrian Arab Airlines , Tunisair , Yemen Airways and Royal Air Maroc , selected Amadeus, as their exclusive distribution partner in a 10-year agreement.
Youssef will be responsible for the implementation of the AACO project in the Middle East and will be closely involved in helping customers to migrate to Amadeus, which established its Middle East Regional Hub in Dubai in May to cater to all levels of region-specific customer needs and provide support to customers with tailor-made solutions.
Fernado Cuesta, Amadeus Head of Middle East & Africa, said: "With the travel sector in the Middle East undergoing a complete transformation, the timing of Youssef's appointment cannot be more appropriate. Increasingly, our partners have to keep up with the demands of the fast-growing travel industry and need the highest level of support to succeed. The AACO deal will enable us to enhance our partnership with the travel agencies. This has resulted in a solid pipeline of travel agents wishing to migrate to Amadeus."
