Spanish Trade on a Comeback, Europe's Feria Valencia in Dubai Debut with Habitat Show
New Feria Valencia Concepts to run from March 4-6 2008 at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre spread across 4,000 square metres
Dubai, March 2, 2008: One of the Europe's largest exhibition organizers and venue owners, Feria Valencia of Spain, is debuting in Dubai with a new show on habitat products and children's fashion as part of an overall focus of Spain to increase trade relations with the UAE and the region in general.
The expo - New Feria Valencia Concepts- which will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre from March 4-6 2008 seeks to help Valencian companies tap the trade potential for habitat products in the context of the boom in the real estate and construction sector.
Mr. Carlos deVargas, CEO, Feria Valencia said that Spanish and particularly Valencian companies are now eagerly scouting international markets which are rich in spending power like the GCC. "The main reason why Valencian habitat products companies did not focus on venturing out so much was because Spain was experiencing a boom in the construction sector which has now slowed down. The construction sector in Spain is till growing, but not like before."
He said Spanish companies have increased their focus on international markets, particularly the eastern markets of Russia and CIS and GCC after the collapse of dollar which has affected exports to dollar countries less lucrative. "We are also seeing a slowing down of Chinese dominance in the regional markets with more focus on quality and value for money demanded by customers," Mr. deVargas said.
High-end of market
The Valencia products are positioned at the high-end segment of the market targeting discerning customers. "Dubai and the region as a whole is an ideal market place for these companies because in our assessment the markets for premium products and services have grown in tandem with the continuing economic prosperity," Mr. deVargas added.
Located in Hall 8 at the centre in Dubai, the exhibition will cover a total of 4,000 square metres. On one hand, the exhibition will have the commercial offer, featuring products from companies in the lighting, furniture, home textiles, ceramic coverings and bathroom equipment, wood for home décor and real estate industries, plus the latest collections from children's fashion.
Feria Valencia is entering Dubai in partnership with the Dubai-based International Expo Consults of Falak Holding which has many leading exhibitions in its portfolio. Feria Valencia also cooperates with the consultancy of Sultan Lootah.
The exhibition will also have an area set aside for promoting veteran trade events organised by Feria Valencia, including Habitat Valencia, FIAM, Textilhogar, Cevisama, Maderalia, Urbe Desarrollo and FIMI.
The children's fashion show - "Oh! Children's Fashion Europe' which will be part of the Dubai exhibition will have 25 brands from prestigious European designers showcasing their collections of children's fashion for the Autumn Winter 2008-2009 season. Brands from various European countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal are participating in this first edition A photo exhibition will showcase a variety of views of the Valencia city shown in 36 pictures ranging from traces of the medieval past to challenging structures of contemporary architecture, in a collection of photographs by graphic reporters of the local Valencian press and national magazines.
