Gulf Air inaugurates new state-of-the-art security office at Bahrain headquarters
New facility to boost security net of the company headquarters
Manama, Bahrain 11 November 2007: Gulf Air inaugurated a new state-of-the-art security office today that will enforce and enhance the protection of the company headquarters.
"As the national carrier of Bahrain it is imperative to have an effective security system in place for the network," says Gulf Air Acting President and Chief Executive Björn Näf, adding that Gulf Air has reported a strong increase in passenger traffic through its hub in Bahrain since the launch of revamped network in July.
"We have a very effective security system in place and the new office will further boost our vigilance and the security net already in place at the headquarters," says Mr. Näf adding that many new local Bahrainis are hired and trained for the job to run the hi-tech systems.
"We are working closely with Bahraini authorities to ensure a smooth security net for the national carrier and the facilities concerned," says Mr. Moerdijk.
The security department has also been equipping its security team with additional gadgets such as walkie-talkies, as well as installing state-of-the art surveillance cameras to enhance security of its operations at Gulf Air 's Muharraq headquarters and outstations.
