Tameer International completes master plan and designs of "Madinat Al Majd" in Jordan
Amman - Tameer International, the only company in Jordan affiliated to the UAE-based Tameer Holdings , the leading Middle East real estate developer, has finalized the design and master plan for " Madinat Al Majd", which it is currently developing with the Housing & Urban Development Corporation ( HUDC ). The designs and master plan for the 2 million square meters city has been developed by " Sigma Consulting Engineers ".
The announcement meeting was attended by Jordanian Minister of Public Works and Housing, H.E Eng. Hosni Abu Ghaida, Director General - ( HUDC ) Eng. Shihada Abu Hdeib, Managing Director of Tameer International in Jordan, Eng. Mohammad Habib, and senior officials of both parties.
The master plan displays Tameer's vision of excellence in modernity and uniqueness in design and optimal utilization of space, and enhances the success of Tameer's partnership with " HUDC " and its focus on carrying out integrated residential developments with state of the art commercial and entertainment amenities.
Expected to be a landmark in Jordan's modern architecture, "Madinat Al Majd" will provide state of the art amenities that exceed customers' needs and real estate observers' expectations. It will include 15,000 residential units on an area of 2 million square meters approximately, along with 70 percent of the apartments, villas and semi-villas designated for limited income groups. The project will comprise commercial units, offices, retail shops, and a shopping center. Tameer International will execute the first phase of the project that will include 8500 apartments ranging in size between 70 and 120 square meters valued at more than 350 million US Dollars. The company has completed the 3.6 million US Dollars first phase infrastructure. The project is situated on Amman - Al Mafraq Highway, near Zarqa Private University.
Tameer has just finished qualifying a group of classified contractors in cooperation with Projax Project Management Co., where they will be distributing the tender documents for the first phase of the project to qualified contractors during the current month of August to compete for the implementation of this phase of the buildings in the city. It is expected that implementation of the work will start by next September, as this stage, which includes two thousand residential units, will be delivered during the year 2008, allowing people to apply for the booking and registration of their residential units soon.
