Oman Mobile adds Syriatel to international multi-media messages facility
MUSCAT -- Oman Mobile has also added another country to its ever-expanding list of countries where international MMS facility is offered. Syriatel of Syria is the latest operator on the list. Subscribers can now send multi-media messages (MMS) internationally to 18 operators in 16 countries. This service is part of the company's initiative to provide its customers with a wide range of high quality services and to help them become familiar with the latest developments in telecommunication services in the world.As a result of this initiative, the company currently has agreements with telecommunications companies in other Gulf states to enable its subscribers to send multimedia messages to these countries. Oman Mobile has signed deals with Batelco in Bahrain Vodafone in Egypt, Mobily and Al Jawwal in Saudi Arabia, Maxis in Malaysia, Orascom in Tunisia, and Algeria, Eitsalat, Q-Tel and MTC Vodafone in Kuwait, Smart Philippines, Singapore's M1, Pakistan's Telenor and now Syria's Syriatel with many more soon to come.
The charge of a 50kb message is 150 baisas and messages from 51kb to 100 kb will be charged 300 baisas. There is no monthly subscription fee and international multimedia messages can be received free of charge. The service is available for both Mada and Hayyak subscribers.
