BankMuscat to sponsor training of 20 students
MUSCAT -- To mark their continuing commitment to develop young Omanis to assume jobs in the public and private sectors, Ministry of Manpower and BankMuscat signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday.Dr Juma bin Ali bin Juma, minister of manpower, and Sheikh AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, chairman of BankMuscat , signed the MoU.
In line with the MoU, BankMuscat will sponsor 20 students for one year to earn a certificate in cash handling and customer service.
Students will be identified by the ministry, and College of Banking and Financial Studies will develop and present the programme.
The sponsored students will be able to continue their education beyond this by enrolling in one of the international diploma programmes offered by the College of Banking and Financial Studies .
Sheikh AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili said: "As the nation's leading bank, we have always believed in addressing the development needs of our people.
It is only by having a stronger team of people that we can hope to achieve our wider business aims and objectives.
This, as you know, is also in keeping with the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said."
AbdulRazak Ali Issa, chief executive of BankMuscat , said: "Taking into consideration the importance of human resources for the success of any organisation, the bank's strategy aims at focusing on Omani human resources. T
he signing of this MoU is a testimony to our efforts in this direction, and also in keeping with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said."
Salim Al Kaabi, assistant general manager, human resources, BankMuscat , said: " BankMuscat is one of the leading banks in human resources development through continuous investment in its Omani employees, which is done under the supervision of the bank's management and board of directors.
This is also in compliance with the vision of His Majesty the Sultan, who continuously calls upon us to dedicate all possible efforts towards developing human resources.
This MoU will be a testimony to our commitment in this direction."
