Prince Alwaleed donated more than $1 million to the US Middle East Policy Council

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company received at his office Ambassador Chas. W. Freeman, US Middle East Policy Council President. It was a follow-up to the previous meeting between Mr. Freeman and Prince Alwaleed. The meeting was also attended by KHC members that included, Mr. Shadi Sanbar Special Advisor to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Heba Fatani Executive Manager Corporate Communications Department, Mr. Ahmad Altobaishi Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Latifa Albussier Assistant Executive Manager Kingdom Foundation and Ms. Manal Alshamary Protocol Department Assistant Manager. 

During the meeting, HRH and Ambassador Freeman discussed Saudi-US social and economic relations. Also on the agenda of discussions were the Prince's local, regional and global investments. Mr. Freeman and the Prince referred to the discussions which took place during their previous meeting, concerning the current role of the Middle East Policy Council. Freeman had said that the council was working on ways to increase social awareness of the Arab world and the West via symposiums, lectures and programs, which required a financial contribution to continue developing its programs. Freeman also discussed the council's teacher training programs that help secondary school teachers address topics on Islam to raise social awareness in which Prince Alwaleed had contributed $100,000 towards. The Prince also made a $1 million contribution that will be divided into payment over a course of one year to the Middle East Policy Council to help develop it future projects.

In response, Prince Alwaleed had acknowledged the importance and vital role of the council for improving the current East-West dialogue. The Prince had also expressed his readiness to continuously contribute and support the Middle East Policy Council in its active cause. The meeting concluded as Mr. Freeman thanked Prince Alwaleed for his support and commended him on his efforts which have given a sense of pride to the Arab world in general, and Saudi Arabia in particular. Furthermore, Mr. Freeman said that HRH plays a vital role in bridging the gap between cultures and developing economic and social fronts for better understanding and peace.
