Jordan: Aqaba Railway Corporation posts slightly higher revenue in 2006
MAAN (Petra) -- Aqaba Railway Corporation (ARC) generated JD9.4 million in revenues last year, slightly higher than the JD9.3 million recorded in 2005. According to ARC Director General Hussein Kreishan, the company's trains carried 2.3 million tonnes of phosphate last year, operating six trains on daily basis and achieving 83 per cent of the scheduled transport plan.By the end of this month, the company will receive four trailers that have been refurbished at a cost of around $6 million, bringing up the number of the company's trailers to 22, Kreishan indicated.
