Kuwait: Al-Oula still changing

KUWAIT: Chairman of the board of Al-Oula for fuel marketing Saud Abdelaziz Al-Babtain expected the company to perform much better in the second half of this year. The chairman added that Al-Oula aims to provide full services for its customers.

Al-Babtain said the changes that have taken place at gas stations are temporary, intended to set into the minds of consumers the new identity of Al-Oula and to give the impression that the gas stations now belong to Al-Oula. He said there is an international consultation company, which designed Al-Oula's brand, in order to differentiate it in the marketplace.

Al-Babtain said Kuwait suffers sever shortages in gas stations as there are 120 gas stations only, while it needs 200 new ones. Al-Babtain said the process of the new stations is very complicated adding that there were other obstacles that delayed the launch of the company, as the transfer of the rights to benefit contracts of KNPC to Al-Oula faced many obstacles.

Al-Babtain pointed to the role of Kuwait Petroleum International ( KPI ) at the start of transfer as help with this, reported Al-Watan. He said there are a number of ides and studies to establish a company that belongs to the services activities department that goes along the gas stations.

Al-Babtain was astonished at the high rental rate of lands of Al-Oula gas stations compared with the low rents of the KNPC lands. He said the company aims at providing integrated services for customers so that such services cover the entire Kuwait.
