Saudi Arabia: SRPC Marks Publishing of BusinessWeek Arabic Edition
JEDDAH, 19 October 2005 -- The publishing by the Saudi Research & Publishing Company (SRPC) of the monthly Arabic edition of BusinessWeek in the Middle East was marked by a celebration hosted by Prince Faisal ibn Salman, chairman of the Saudi Research & Marketing Group (SRMG), at the Jeddah Hilton late Monday night. The SRPC's Specialized Publishing Department is publishing the BusinessWeek Arabic edition in coordination with InfoPro Management Sarl of Lebanon and the US-based McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc., which will be distributed by the Saudi Distribution Company in the region.
"While the Arabic edition of BusinessWeek will be distributed free of cost to the subscribers of Al-Eqtisadiah, the monthly will also be available on the newsstands for SR12, Specialized Publishing Department's Executive Director Mohammad Al-Omar said.
Ibrahim Aljomaih of the Aljomaih Holding Company, and Dr. Abdullah Dahlan, former secretary-general of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI), were among those who spoke welcoming the distribution of the Arabic edition of BusinessWeek in the region.
Aljomaih said he had been a loyal reader of BusinessWeek for several years and hoped that the distribution of its Arabic edition would enhance its presence in the region. "While I welcome its distribution with Al-Eqtisadiah, it's essential that it should be done every week in this age of quick information dissemination," he said.
The BusinessWeek is being published weekly since Sept. 7, 1929 by the McGraw-Hill Companies in New York.
