Algeria Wants to Launch Nuclear Mining Industry
Algeria is working to establish a new uranium extraction industry. The North African country is anticipating growing demand for power of nuclear origin and efforts are underway to create incentives in the mining sector. In this context, the energy and mining ministry, in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will organize a special information session aimed at attracting the interest of professionals in the field.The event to be held next Saturday, which will be called "uranium exploration," aims at addressing the dual issues of high energy demand and the environmental aspects as related to the Kyoto protocol along with the necessity of establishing cleaner and renewable sources of energy.
