Aseer Expects $52 Million in Profits for Q3f 2005, Plans to Increase Capital

Beirut (APD) - The Saudi-based Aseer Company said it expects profits of SR 195 million (around $52 million) for the first three quarters of the fiscal year 2005, the Saudi-based Al Riyadh daily reported Friday.

In the first half of the current year sales of Aseer increased by 9% to SR 590 million from SR 540 million in the same period of 2004.

However net income soared by 145% to reach SR 131.2 million for H1 2005 compared with SR 53.6 million in H1 2004.

The company has recently announced its intention to increase its capital. Aseer will appoint a financial advisor for this purpose. The advisor would give recommendations concerning the distribution of bonus shares to shareholders and the employee stock options program. [SN-FC]
