Casablanca Stock Exchange consolidates on Friday its weekly winning streak

Morocco - Casablanca Stock Exchange ended the week in the black, as it did in every single session of this week. MASI was up on Friday 0.16% to 4,689.68, and MADEX 0.1% to 3,653.19. The day's volume totaled 273,929 shares, generating a turnover of MAD 66.2 million.

Total market capitalization now stands at MAD 211.3 billion.

The refinery SAMIR was flat at MAD 460 (+0.02%), and the cement and concrete specialist Holcim was up by 1.22% to MAD 1,240.

Itissalat Al-Maghreb gained 0.5% to MAD 84. A total of 202,030 shares of the telecom company changed hands on Friday.

BMCE Bank gained 1.67% to MAD 610. Its competitor CIH posted the worst performance of the day (-2.33%) as investors took their profits following the recent gains.

Ex-dividend shares of ONA lost 0.56% to MAD 890. The diversified conglomerate paid out a MAD 25 dividend for its 2004 fiscal year on Friday.

CSE announced on Friday that it had set the IPO price of Lydec at MAD 240 , at the high end of the initial 210-240 continuum. Demand topped 27.5 million shares for a mere 1.12 on offer, and shares of the utility company are expected to rise considerably when they open on Monday.

As three companies are in the process of being delisted (Carnaud, Diac Equipement, and Le Carton), Lydec is the latest in a promising wave of firms raising capital on CSE.
