Morocco: Friday's volume crowns a good week for stocks

Morocco - Casablanca Stock Exchange ended the week in the black, the Moroccan All Shares Index (MASI) gained during the last trading session of the week 0.74% to 4,617.43, and the Most Active Shares Index (MADEX) 0.81% to 3,573.76.

Friday's volume totaled 531,407 shares generating a turnover of MAD 738 million. Total market capitalization now stands at MAD 208.65 billion.

The steel manufacturer SONASID gained on Friday 0.59% to MAD 852 and its parent company, the diversified conglomerate ONA, was up by 1.18% to MAD 860. Lafarge gained 0.81% in the heaviest dirham-volume of MAD 70.4 million. Shares of the cement manufacturer closed up 0.81% to MAD 2,500.

BMCI was unchanged at MAD 749 in a volume of 1,010, but two block-trade transactions of 200,000 shares each representing 4.8% of the bank's capital were recorded late in the morning at MAD 735 a share. Its competitor BCP gained 1.26% to MAD 724 in a volume of 7,665 shares.

Shares of the bank CIH were suspended pending news announcement following a request of the exchange's watchdog CDVM. Itissalat Al Maghrib was up by 0.44% to MAD 82.04. A total of 57,077 shares of the telecom company changed hands on Friday.
