The Supreme Committee on Crude Oil Marketing approved on Sunday the crude oil sales for January 2012, at a an estimated quantity of 2.5 million barrels.

In its monthly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the committee agreed to sell the full amount of Masila crude oil (roughly 2.5 million barrels) to Arcadia Company at 257c a barrel plus Dated Brent.

Regarding Marib crude oil, the committee approved selling the total quantity available after fixing the oil pipeline to Aden Refinery Company at the dated Brent price (i.e. without any discount or rise).

The committee has discussed the measures required to provide crude oil to Aden Refinery Company during the current period to be able to supply the local market with the needed oil derivatives.

The oil export pipeline Marib - Ras Essa has been attacked many times since it was fixed last June.
