Hamdan Award Supports Scientific Research in Sharjah University
Dubai, Feb 12th, 2012 (WAM) -- Two officials of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktowm Award for Medical Sciences comprising Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General, and Abdulla Bin Souqat, Executive Director, visited the Medical Faculties, Sharjah University to review the progress on the research papers of Doctors who have recently received research support grants from the Award, and the time left to finalize their papers.
The meeting, attended by Prof. Hossam Hamdy, Vice Chancellor, Medical and Health Sciences Colleges, Sharjah University, discussed supporting ways of cooperation between the Award and Centre for Arab Genomic Studies, and College of Medicine, in the field of Continuing Medical Education, particularly master and Ph.D. programs.Also, during the visit, Prof. Hamdy accompanied the Award’s officials in a tour at University Hospital Sharjah, Dental Hospital and Sharjah Institute for Medical Research.Following the visit, Prof. Najuib Al Khaja praised the tireless efforts paid by the Founder and President of Sharjah University, H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah."I am so proud of the visit which reflects the mutual willingness of both sides, the Award and Sharjah University, to support ways of cooperation in fields of medicine, such as Scientific Research and medical services", he added.
