ENOC opens Technical Training Centre in Jebel Ali
Dubai, Nov 23rd, 2011 (WAM) -- Emirates National Oil Company ( ENOC ) today opened a Technical Training Centre, dedicated to promoting Emiratisation across the organisation’s key technical positions, in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
With advanced educational tools including workshops, tool cribs, labs, simulators, a technical library, and specially trained faculty, The Technical Training Centre also commenced the first training programme for 40 UAE National graduates from various technical institutes in the country.The Centre and its first training program under Tatweer, ENOC’s National Development Programme, were inaugurated by Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC’s Chief Executive Officer, in the presence of senior ENOC managers, high-level government officials and other dignitaries.Saeed Abdullah Khoory on the occasion said: " ENOC is committed to the goals of Emiratisation outlined by the UAE Government, and the Technical Training Centre marks an initiative whereby the focus will be on providing advanced technical training for UAE nationals. Our goal is to attract, develop and retain UAE nationals for various technical and managerial positions. The centre will help them to be equipped with the most relevant industry skills pertaining to their roles.The Technical Training Centre will roll out specialised programmes designed and developed to meet the specific needs of the business. The centre will also offer on-the-job training for ENOC employees, supported by purpose-built programmes, and mentoring sessions.The training programme has two components – a Pre-Engineering period where the participants are introduced to engineering concepts and principles and familiarised with the operations of ENOC and its businesses through workshops and site tours of various entities and business partners. After this period, participants will undergo a six- to 12-month on-the-job training, which will include continuous job assessment.The Training Centre will also enable ENOC to offer specific programmes that suit the time-schedule of the employees. In designing the training sessions, the Technical Training Centre drew on the vast in-house expertise of ENOC professionals as well as subject experts.The Technical Training Centre is located in close proximity to the ENOC Processing Company LLC (EPCL), Emirates Gas and the Jebel Ali Terminal. ENOC regularly undertakes in-house training for its staff, enabling them to keep up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry.
