Mohammed bin Rashid visits Dubai International Motor Show, Jewellery Exhibition 2011 (updated)

Dubai, Nov 11th, 2011 (WAM)--Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured here today evening the Dubai International Motor Show, hosted by Dubai World Trade Centre , from Nov. 10- 15.

Sheikh Mohammed toured the show, which features the latest innovations of global auto industry by 15 companies and factories, which choose Dubai International Motor Show to promote their latest models, techniques and explore new markets in the region.

He was briefed at the pavilions about the techniques and modern designs introduced by the auto companies to compete in the global auto industry.

Accompanied by Mohammed Jumaa Al Naboodah and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Department of Protocols and Hospitality, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Hilal Al Marri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre about the development phases of the show since it started in 1989 until it becomes one of the major Motor Shows in the world.

Sheikh Mohammed also visited Dubai International Jewellery Week Exhibition 2011, where he was briefed about the rare and expensive diamond pieces and jewelries designed by international specialists. Over 270 exhibitors, representing 25 countries, including Italy, India, Lebanon and others, are showcasing their jewelries.

The Vice President expressed his satisfaction about such successful fairs being hosted by Dubai throughout the year, indicating that they constitute sources of income, being the pillars of diversified national economy.

He appreciated welcoming of visitors and guests, a gesture that reflects original UAE Arab values and norms.
