Security Information survey stresses importance of dealing with violators

Abu Dhabi, Jun 15th, 2010 (WAM)--Officials, Emiratis and expatriates have all agreed for unifying all ranks of competent authorities and individuals in community to tackle the issue of violators and infiltrators across the country.

The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police has revealed that a number of the residency law violators and infiltrators has been seized in cooperation with competent authorities in Abu Dhabi as per the statistics of the Criminal Investment Department. The report said about 2519 violators and infiltrators were nabbed in 15 months during early 2009 to March 2010.

The respondents, Emiratis and expatriates, who answered the survey queries conducted by the information security department at the General Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, during its Sahem campaign organised by the ministry in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Media Company , Civil Society Organisations and individuals, expressed their anxiety about the presence of violators in the country, appreciating set of measures taken by the ministry to track them down to safeguard public security.

Staff Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, assistant undersecretary of the ministry for resources and support services, said there is no need to welcome violating workforce, adding that such labour should not be employed at all due to their illegal status. "They sometimes live in isolated environment, where they resort to forming gangs that spread panic and crime in the community since they could not be identified".

He underlined that it is imperative to eradicate the infiltration into the UAE and employment of illegal labour, as well as bringing to books those who expose the country and community's security to danger.

Khaili called for tightening grip on violators and those who harbour or assist them to ensure security and stability in the country.
