RCA implements projects at cost AED224million in Palestine, camps in Syria and Lebanon
Jerusalem, May 22nd, 2010 (WAM)--The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) continues its construction and relief projects in the Palestinian territories and the Palestinian camps in Syria and Lebanon.
Following a series of projects across Palestine at cost AED700 in recent years, the RCA is currently implementing other projects worth over AED224million. These projects are sprawling across West Bank, Gaza Strip and the Palestinian camps in Syria and Lebanon. They include schools. mosques, residential units, People with special need centres, hospitals, health centres and relief programmes, targeting the most needy Palestinians in towns, villages and the Palestinian camps.Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouei, board chairman of the RCA, said the projects and relief aid to Palestinians expand in the light of huge construction projects, of which others are completed and some will be completed during this year.He told Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that the RCA focuses on Jerusalem (Al Quds) and then Palestinian towns, villages, Palestinian camps in West Bank, Gaza Strip and Palestinian refugee camps in Syria and Lebanon as per the directives from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the RCA.
