Tameer Towers on track for construction
Dubai, 26 May 2009 (WAM) - Tameer Towers, the flagship development of Tameer and the focal point of The Shams district of Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, is moving ahead.
After the successful completion of massive enabling works, Tameer is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the negotiations and signed the Construction Agreement with Al Rajhi Projects & Construction in alliance with Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises.Scheduled to start delivering in 2011, the nine-million square-feet complex features a signature commercial tower and four luxury residential towers. Excavations of over 7 million cubic feet were followed by further earthworks, shoring and piling (1000 piles in total) and in excess of 1.4 linear kilometers of diaphragm wall being constructed.These enabling works for the entire development were successfully completed in December 2008, achieving a significant milestone in the project delivery schedule. Subsequently pile capping and trimming, concrete blinding and water-proofing work has been undertaken together with the erection of three tower cranes. The start of sub-structure works is now imminent and superstructure works are expected to commence before the end of 2009.In its constant pursuit of customer satisfaction, Tameer has aligned its contractors towards a successful delivery of Tameer Towers.The contractors of the new phase of the project have already mobilized their equipment and manpower to the site. Tameer reaffirms its confidence in the Abu Dhabi market and commitment to the successful delivery of this landmark project.
