UAE embassy in Algeria gears up to distribute relief supplies to flood victims
Algiers, Oct 07th, 2008 (WAM): The UAE embassy in Algeria is preparing for a relief operation to help victims of the recent flood that hit the Gradaya region in Algeria.
Truckloads of relief supplies were dispatched by the embassy from the Algerian capital to the worst hit region. The supplies included food items, blankets, cloth and other essential commodities.Over 33 people died and hundreds of people fled their homes in the wake of the flood brought about by torrential rains.A team of volunteers from the embassy will start distribution of the relief supplies under the supervision of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
