Abu Dhabi, March 19th, 2008 (WAM) - The International Petroleum Investments Company (IPIC) launched on Monday construction works on Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP), a project to build crude pipeline from Habshan to Fujairah.

According to a statement released today, the start of work had been celebrated in a ceremony on Monday by the company's project management department, in presence of representatives of the companies taking part in the project, including project managers ILF Consulting Engineers, Worley Parsons which is carrying out the project's front end engineering design and China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation, nominated as engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

ADCOP project entails construction of a 360-kilometer oil export pipeline to transport up to 1.5 million barrels a day of crude from Habshan oilfields to the export terminal in Fujairah, scheduled for operation in March 2010.
