WAM goes high-tech
Abu Dhabi, Dec 08th, 2007 (WAM): As part of its ambitious modernization programme, the Emirates New Agency (WAM) has introduced in its newsrooms 'Fileworks', a new system for the news-and pictures-management. Fileworks brings state-of-the art features to news gathering, editing, translation, transmission and archiving of news and articles.
Fileworks, a software innovation developed by the Abu Dhabi based SEDCO , replaces its predecessor Nepras.WAM, in its steady and phased growth, is bringing more excellence in performance by adopting new technology and editing methods.Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the National Media Council Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi said that Emirates News Agency (WAM) has received an impetus in its media activities by way of introducing the new IT platform for editing and managing news and pictures. This modernisation process comes as per the directives of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and Chairman of National Media Council, Al Gergawi added.Zawya Comment Policy
