DOHA: Vodafone Qatar continues to boost its share of the mobile telecom market in Qatar with 11 percent customer growth over the year to reach a record 837,233 customers as of 31 March 2012, the company's financial year-end.

This represents 47 percent of the population of Qatar who are now using Vodafone's services.

Vodafone officials said the customer growth this year has been driven by enhancements to the mobile network and the launch of innovative promotions and services such as the "Swalif" local calling offer and BlackBerry on Prepaid. Vodafone will report its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2012 following a Board Meeting on June 7.
