Huawei unveils its next generation data centre architecture DC²to maximize cloud computing

Dubai, May 26 2013: At the Data Centre Dynamics conference and expo to be held in Dubai on May 27th 2013, Davis Fu, Vice President of IT solutions, global markets at Huawei Technologies will stress the importance for companies in the Middle East to fully capitalise on the potential of cloud data centre solutions to achieve new levels of business mobility and efficiency.

Commenting ahead of the conference Davis Fu, said: "We see significant investment being made in cloud computing and data centre services in the region. however, adoption is still at the very early stages. Companies here are eager to take the first step into cloud computing through virtualization of their applications, but they have to continue the process of adoption by utilising some of the more compelling business features of the cloud. By supporting the growing trend of bring-your-own-device (BYOD), the fuller features of cloud computing allows businesses to be more flexible and efficient while saving costs. If a company's workforce is connected to a cloud-based network we can give them access to company resources through their mobile devices and thin clients around the clock. With full utilization of cloud computing solutions, cost savings can be immense."

During the annual summit of data centre & ICT professionals, Huawei experts from the Enterprise Business will reveal the next generation data centre architecture DC²,that is designed to support the cloud era. Huawei's latest solutions provide integration of resources, unified services, and intelligent management.

Cloud computing can allow organizations greater business flexibility and compelling benefits from an economic standpoint. Taking virtualization to the next level means organizations will need fewer servers to do the same amount of work with better adaptability. The next generation of data centre framework also allows business to take advantage of parallel processing and analyse vast amounts of data that, until now, was never possible before.

At the conference, Davis Fu will give a presentation under the title of "The Best Way to Predict the Future Is to Invent It - DC2" and will showcase Huawei's data centre and cloud computing portfolio with information and demonstrations on its UPS, IDS 1000, Unified Management Platform for DC2, server, storage and router/switch Data centre solutions.

Huawei has been an active innovator in the data center field for more than a decade. By Q1 2013, Huawei helped global customers build more than 260 data centers, 35 of which are cloud data centers, including the State Information Center of China, Digital Hospital of Ghana government and China Mobile International Information Port, which occupies more than 300,000 square meters and is one of the world's largest data centers.
