DUBAI: The Inaugural "Middle East Fragrance Summit 2011" is scheduled between 26-27 September 2011 in Dubai, the UAE, it was announced today.
"Middle East's fragrance market has not been affected by the region's economic slowdown," Shahzad Haidar, Chairman of the Fragrance Foundation Arabia, said in a press conference in Dubai to announce the summit. According to the Foundation's website, the event is bound to elevate the fragrance industry knowledge, market information and opportunities of B2B interactions between Middle Eastern and global players. Laila Suhail, CEO of Dubai Events & Promotions, which backs the event said fragrance industry is among the biggest sectors in Dubai and the UAE. "Fragrance industry in the Middle East being the highest per capita spend of CNF in the world is poised with multi brand offerings from around the world. Middle East by virtue of its retail driven market with emerging focus from international players has tabbed the potential aspect of its multi-brand strength for cosmopolitan consumers," according to Haidar in a message. This years focus of the summit would be "Bridging Innovation". The Foundation says the idea behind this topic is how international fragrances are tilting towards oriental notes and trends and how Arabic and oriental fragrances are embracing international fragrances in terms of packaging, marketing in their own French line of fragrances under oriental brands.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2011.
