DUBAI, 12th March, 2017 (WAM) -- Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Frank Molen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, discussed strengthening of medial co-operation between the two countries on Sunday.

During the meeting at the ministry in Dubai, the two parties discussed the agenda of a meeting to be held in April between the UAE and Dutch Ministers of Health.

They also discussed opportunities for co-operation in the areas of healthcare, exchange of expertise, training and attracting visiting doctors, as well as facilitating the treatment of Emiratis at advanced medical centres and the licensing of Dutch doctors in the UAE.

Al Owais stressed the importance of enhancing relations in the area of health, noting that the UAE s strategy to provide comprehensive healthcare, with a focus on innovative and sustainable methods, ensures preventive methods to protect the community from diseases.

Ambassador Frank Molen commended the healthcare standards in the UAE, especially the health investment environment that attracts international companies. He expressed the willingness of the Netherlands to further strengthen its health co-operation with the UAE.

He also underlined the importance of holding medical conferences and exhibitions in the UAE, describing these events as an appropriate opportunity for Dutch companies to enter the medical industry in the Arab Gulf and the Middle East.
