The Travelex Oman Tourism Ambassador Awards ceremony was held recently under the auspices of H E Maitha Saif Majid al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism. It was organised by Travelex in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism.

A total of 110 nominations were submitted for ten different categories and the winners were selected by a panel of six judges. 

H E Maitha said, "At a time when tourism is playing such a vital part in the future of our economy, the awards are an excellent means to highlight its success and Travelex has created a platform to recognise this."

According to her, the Travelex Awards has been well received. "It is clear that the Travelex Oman Tourism Ambassador Awards has been met with real enthusiasm across the sultanate. There are many stories of personal achievement, initiative and entrepreneurship to be learnt from these winners."

Peter Jackson, CEO, Travelex, said, "It is our hope that by recognising and rewarding those people who have made significant contributions to the success of Oman's tourism industry, we will help to encourage further growth and achievement in the sector."

He congratulated the winners and said, "We encourage the winners to be the best in class as the awards have shown some outstanding achievements at both the company and individual level."
