A worldwide search been launched by AEG Ogden for an exceptional venue executive to head up the Qatar National Convention Centre's team as General Manager.
AEG Ogden, one of the world's leading venue specialists, operates the QNCC on behalf of the Qatar Foundation.
AEG Ogden CEO Harvey Lister said that as the QNCC team moved on from its initial period of detailed design input, venue branding and establishing market awareness they are now beginning to assemble the necessary long term operational structure.
"So this is a planned and timely expansion of the team that will now manage detailed preparation for the first major event, the World Petroleum Congress in December 2011, and deliver a truly world class facility for the ongoing benefit of Doha and Qatar," Mr Lister said.
"To this end we have commenced a global search for an experienced manager to build and lead our team into the next exciting phase."
"The candidate we are seeking will be an inspirational leader, highly skilled in the complexities of major project openings as well as being familiar with Middle Eastern cultural requirements and sensitivities," Mr Lister said.
Oil and gas have made Qatar one of the world's fastest growing economies and the country is channelling this wealth into advancement of culture, science and education and the creation of a vibrant, knowledge based society.
QNCC is located alongside elite universities, medical facilities and research and technology institutes in Education City, a new global hub of ideas and innovations being developed by the Qatar Foundation.
Enquiries should be directed to Director of Human Resources, Qatar National Convention Centre.
