Saudi Arabia-based engineering and construction giant Al-Rushaid Construction Company Ltd. (ARCC) was recently awarded the best environmental, safety and health contractor of the year award, presented by PSA 2000 Saudi Arabia Ltd., a subsidiary of Fives Solios of France, the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the Maaden Aluminum Company.
ARCC was recognized among other key players in the industry.
The award is due recognition to ARCC & PSA 2000/Fives Solios of Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company, the project management contractor of Saudi Arabia's first ever aluminum smelter at the Maaden minerals industry complex at the Ras Al-Khair Minerals Industrial City.
The industry complex is being developed by the Saudi Arabian Mining Company Maaden and will also house an alumina refinery and a rolling mill.
Present at the award ceremony are Rob Mcnaught, Andre Bachman and Terry Lyons of Saudi Arabian Bechtel with Alain Grotte and Kiran Kumar of PSA 2000 Saudi Arabia Ltd. while Rodolfo Rarang, safety manager and Eloy A. Lascano, group manager for operation from ARCC accepting the award in behalf of the company.
Mercado T. Magno, vice-president and general manager for operations, said he is proud to receive the important award that highlights the client's appreciation and recognition of ARCC's contribution to the project.
"On behalf of ARCC, I would like to thank Bechtel & PSA 2000/Fives Solios for another great achievement you granted us, I share this to those who are involved in this project, we could not have accomplished this feat without their full cooperation and support," said Magno.
"This award to ARCC is a proof of our continuing efforts to realize our goal of completing the projects on time, safely and with quality workmanship, I salute all the great men behind this achievement," he added.
"Each year, we recognize contractors for attaining a level of achievement that raises the bar for all of us and for the entire industry," said Michael Koch, PSA 2000/Five Solios general manager, at the award ceremony.
