TUNIS - "The interest lent by Tunisia at present, to sustainable development, renewable energies' promotion and basic infrastructure consolidation, is one of the main factors that could encourage the international Tetra Tech Group to study the possibility to create some projects in the country," visiting Tetra Tech representatives said.
They specified that "their visit aims to take stock of the investment opportunities in Tunisia and better know the development projects planned on the short and long terms," a communiqué of the Investment and International Co-operation Ministry released on Wednesday, reads.
"Tetra Tech" is a world leading provider of consulting, engineering and technical services in several areas (infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism and biotechnology).
It is composed of several investment companies of Finnish, Russian and American origin.
During his talk with "Tetra Tech" delegation members, Investment and International Co-operation Minister Riadh Bettaeib pointed out that the new investment climate in Tunisia constitutes a platform propitious to foreign investment, whether it is direct or part of a public-private partnership, according to the same source.
The meeting was an occasion to review the main projects planned for the next period, as regards mainly, projects scheduled as part of the Tunisian Solar Plan, the sea water desalination in Djerba and Sfax and many other infrastructure projects.
The latter regard the highway to link Boussalem and the Algerian borders along 70km, Gabès/Médenine/Ras Jedir highway over 180km and the one between Ennfidha/Kairouan/Sidi Bouzid/Kasserine/Gafsa (350km).
