Sales Uptake Triples in 2011

Dubai, March 29 2012:  National Trading and Developing Establishment (NTDE), distributor of over 100 international brands in the UAE was honoured by the US-based McIlhenny Company, Avery Island, Louisiana, owner of the popular Tabasco sauces, awarding the `Best Distributor in the World' for its stellar performance in increasing the numerical distribution and sales volumes of the product threefold since 2010.

NTDE was awarded the exclusive distribution rights for Tabasco for the UAE and Oman in January 2010 and in a span of three months since the partnership with the US company started sales uptake of Tabasco sauces doubled and in 2010 the numerical uptake volumes tripled, a testimony to NTDE's efforts in carving a larger market share for the popular hot sauce brand

"We are very proud to be awarded the `Best Distributor' title because it endorses our strategic efforts in enhancing the market for Tabasco sauces in the UAE and Oman working towards our goal to make the product an essential accompaniment on every dining table in the markets we cater to," said Mr. Issam Hamoud, Business Development Director of NTDE.

Tabasco is known for its superior quality and taste and is labeled in 22 languages and sold across 160 countries globally and NTDE's efforts are to make it the most preferred sauce brand in the UAE and Oman, Mr. Hamoud added.

According to Mr. Hussain Al Zubaidee, Executive Director of the Foods division of NTDE, a concerted marketing strategy for Tabasco was conceived and executed to promote the brand and its appeal across all market segments including retail and hospitality resulting in the sales success.

"Introduction of Tabasco variants to provide culinary variety and cross promotions has helped us make deep inroads into the market. At NTDE we believe in building a brand on a sustainable platform with long-term focus and we are confident that Tabasco will gain further from this strategic approach," Mr. Zubaidee added.
