Sir John Jones addresses Taaleem teachers
In their continued commitment and drive to bring the very best of education to the region, Taaleem hosted Sir John Jones to address their faculty on taking a school and methods of teaching from 'Good to Outstanding'.
Sir John Jones is amongst a small and select band of educational professionals in the UK who has not only had his achievements recognised in the New Year's Honours List, but who is also able to inspire others with his outstanding knowledge, passion and enthusiasm. Knighted in 2003 for his services to education, Sir John worked most of his professional life in challenging schools across the North West of England, his last post being the head-teacher of a large secondary school in Merseyside.
Taaleem CEO, Mr. Ziad Azzam said, "We are honoured to host such an engaging, inspiring and globally sought-after speaker of the educational stage as Sir John Jones. Jumeira Baccalaureate School, Dubai British School and Taaleem-EdisonLearning, the public- private partnership between Taaleem, EdisonLearning and the Abu Dhabi Educational Council, were all present at the address, which further focused on how to get people in the right frame of mind to advance their levels of teaching, to reinforce their skills and to optimise the value of teamwork.
Sir John Jones' achievements and reputation for straight talking, leadership and creativity have led him to be invited onto various organizations, panels and think tanks including the National College for School Leadership, the DfES' Leadership Development Unit, the Teacher Development Agency's National Re-modelling Unit and visiting posts with both Manchester and Liverpool Universities.

History of Taaleem
The origins of Taaleem began in 2004 when Beacon Education, a school management company was set up to develop and run high quality education projects. Beacon Education was created to meet the need for top-quality schools as the region's population continues to grow.
Our first schools opened in September 2005 and two years later, National Bonds, a Dubai-based private joint stock company with around 50% ownership by the Government of Dubai, started investing in Beacon Education.
Taaleem is the assumed name through which we will continue to deliver our promise to inspire students and help them to identify and develop their passions and talents.
